Ferrara

Abel Ferrara (1951, United States) is an American director and screenwriter. A long-time independent filmmaker, many of his movies explore crime, sex, and violence in gritty urban settings, as well as themes of good and evil. Som of his best-known films are Ms.45 (1981), King of New York (1990), Bad Lieutenant (1992), and The Funeral (1996). Most recently, Padre Pio (2022) tells the story of Saint Pius of Pietrelcina and the events that took place in 1920 in San Giovanni Rotondo. Ferrara currently lives in Rome.
