Bukta
Imre Bukta is a painter, sculptor, and performer. He is self-taught. Since his 1978 Budapest exhibition, he has continuously participated in exhibitions at home and abroad. His works have been exhibited in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Italy, and other countries. In 1989 he was awarded the Munkácsy Prize, and in 1997 he was made a Hungarian Artist of Merit. The themes of his art are agriculture, village life, peasant work, and religion, whose tools and materials he uses for his sculptures, paintings, and installations.
