Michael Rips (1954, United States) is the author of Pasquale's Nose: Idle Days in an Italian Town, The Face of a Naked Lady: An Omaha Family Mystery, and most recently, The Golden Flea: A Story of Obsession and Collecting, a memoir recalling New York City’s legendary Chelsea Flea Market, published by Norton in 2020. He is the executive director of the Art Students League of New York and lives in the Chelsea Hotel in New York City.
