Adams

Bernard Adams was born in 1937 and read Hungarian and Russian at Pembroke College, Cambridge. He has published more than 25 translations, including Zsigmond Móricz's Relations, Kelemen Mikes's Letters from Turkey, and Dezső Kosztolányi's Kornél Esti. He has been awarded twice each by the PEN American Center translation fund, the Füst Milán Foundation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and the John Dryden Translation Competition. He lives in Zánka, a village on the north shore of Lake Balaton in western Hungary.
