Hýsek (1974, Czech Republic) was born in 1974 in the Czech Republic. He teaches fiction translation and slam poetry at the Palacký University in the Department of English and American Studies, where he is also director of the Literary Translation Atelier. His translations include the works of Charles Bukowski, Nick Cave, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg. He is an organizer of the Czech national slam poetry championship and the poetry festival Islands Without Borders. He is editor-in-chief at Cannabis Therapy Magazine.
