(1956, USA) is a music journalist and editor. He is a co-founder of the magazine Punk that gave the movement its name, and a former editor at Spin and editor-in-chief of Neve Magazine. McNeil co-authored (with Gillian McCain) Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk. He also co-authored (with Jennifer Osborne and Peter Pavia) The Other Hollywood: The Uncensored Oral History of the Porn Film Industry, and (with Mickey Leigh) I Slept with Joey Ramone: A Family Memoir.
