Ljuba Arnautović was born in Kursk (USSR) in 1954 as the daughter of a Russian mother and an Austrian father. After Moscow and Munich, she has lived in Vienna since 1987. She studied social education, worked at the Documentation Archive of the Austrian Resistance, was a translator and radio journalist. Her first novel Im Verborgenen was nominated for the Austrian Book Award/Debut in 2018. Her second novel Junischnee was published in 2021.
