Michal Habaj (1973, Slovakia) is a poet, novelist and literary scientist. He works at the Institute of Slovak Literature, Slovak Academy of Science. Michal Habaj’s collections of poetry programmatically disrupt traditional perceptions of the authorial and lyrical subject. Habaj styles himself as a romantic cyborg, or as Anna Snegina, a “Slovak female poet of Russian origin”. He intertextually selects striking aspects of classic poetry and places them into the setting of the social and artistic conditions of the present day.
