Horáková

(1974, Czech Republic) is a Prague-based author, radio journalist, and literary translator. Her published works of fiction include a detective trilogy for young adults: The Secret of the Sexton Beetles. In 2018 she published her first novel for adults: A Theory of Strangeness (Teorie podivnosti), which won her the Czech Magnesia Litera Prize for prose in 2019, the most prestigious literary award in the Czech Republic. In 2021 she published her last novel The Heart of Europe (Srdce Evropy), which is a truly great Central European novel.
